As a fresh-faced (pre-bearded, in fact) marketing undergrad, I couldn’t have found a more fun outlet for my passion for music than the work I did as a College Marketing Rep for Universal. With my backpack full of promotional materials and CDs, I was a one-man promotional army, creating buzz on a shoestring budget for Universal artists in my college town. Partnering with several local businesses and student organizations, I planned listening parties, screenings, contests, and other events. Universal took notice – I was offered a job at their Washington, DC office after graduation.
